So the first stop on the road trip was to Colonial Williamsburg. Now to be honest, I knew next to nothing about this place. I looked up a few different cities around this distance from New York and this one clearly had an enticing descriptions part of the USA’s “Historical Triangle” which includes Williamsburg, Jamestown, and Yorktown.
The actual drive to Colonial Williamsburg (CW), was pretty good actually. Surprisingly, we missed the morning rush hour traffic from New York/ & New Jersey and missed the after work traffic jams around the DC, Virginia, Maryland area. I did get to utilize the HOV lane just slipping by at 3:30pm through DC. Then onto the open road in Virginia. The one state I was really worried about driving through Virginia. Not only have I has some experience driving through this state, but I have heard the horror stories first hand of what happens if you get caught speeding in VA. In some cases, you go straight to jail… like literally… Don’t Pass Go, Don’t Collect $200 hahah Anyways, you know I used cruise control any where possible and stuck in that slow lane! Other than that, the rest of the drive was great!
